February 1st - Calling all history lovers! The Trinidad History Museum is seeking volunteers to assist visitors to the Baca House, Bloom Museum and Santa Fe Trail Museum. Museum volunteers are also community ambassadors who promote the Trinidad area. Half-day shifts are available, Monday-Thursday, between May 1 and September 30. The museum accommodates all requests for time off. Volunteer benefits include store discounts and free admission to the museum and other Colorado Historical Society properties. - will present its first play of the season on February the 19th through the 22nd. Janet Golding will be taking the directors chair for a delightful musical comedy entitled “Soup du Jour”.
February 7 - Lamar Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation Banquet
February 27 & 28 - Second Annual High Plains Snow Goose Festival and Nature Arts and Crafts Fair in Lamar, Colorado. It will start off on Friday the 27th with registration and social hour in the evening, then for a fun-filled day of tours and activities on Saturday the 28th. Take in a sunrise or sunset tour to view snow geese, sandhill cranes, and other waterfowl. Also during the day go on a guided nature walk, and/or visit local and historic sites of interest.
